Temperature Programmed Surface Reaction (TPSR). Starting in the back, we see the gas cylinders, computer data acquisition and control, the glass reactor, furnace, and to the right, mass flow controllers and gas sampling loops, and in the foreground is the 200 amu mass spectrometer with vacuum pumps below. Various combinations of gasses and temperatures can be tested in TPX experiments (X = reaction, oxidation, reduction, desorption, adsorption, chemisorption, BET surface area.) Note the unused HP 5890 gas chromatograph waiting to be used.
